Item Description

In his fourth book for children, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer focuses on the topic of excuses and how they can do more harm than we realize. The book demonstrates how excuses go far beyond “my dog ate my homework,” and can actually become words that prevent your child from reaching his or her potential. The book follows a boy with a seemingly impossible dream who almost lets excuses (“I’m not smart enough” . . . “It’s too hard,” and so on) get in his way. He discovers, as will your child, that by following a few simple ideas and eliminating excuses . . . anything is possible!

This book has a great and inspiring message for children. I love reading it to my kids to show them that they can be whatever they hope to be no matter what gets in their way.

Grandkids paid way more attention to it than I was thinking they were, so don't underestimate its value.

4 stars Great Message! 2010-04-23

My daughter is 4-yrs old and I often read this book to her at bedtime! I'm not sure if she really understands the message yet, but it's rare that she falls asleep before I'm finished reading it. I believe that she will learn from this book and take these positve ideas with her into adulthood. Great message and illustrations!

I just LOVE this book. I've been trying to work with my son on his rather negative, defeatist attitude and it's been tough to capture his attention. Reading this book with him has put the whole subject in a whole new light and we now regularly talk about "Is that an excuse?" and he know what I'm talking about and can rethink his reaction. It's really made a difference for him.
