Dr. Dyer provides a useful strategy to question whether excuses are valid and shows us how to eliminate those that are not. This work is in alignment with that of Katie Byron's I Need Your Love - Is That True?: How to Stop Seeking Love, Approval, and Appreciation and Start Finding Them Instead and Dr. Rosalene Glickman's Optimal Thinking: How to Be Your Best Self. i recommend all three books, if you want to make the most of your life and career.

Excuses Be Gone is a wonderful book I feel everyone needs to read. It shows me the way into higher ways of thinking, brings peace into my life, and reminds me as to who I really am. Wayne Dyer is about the people he is helping. He is selfless. Thank you for being you. Thank you! Vickie Gay, psychic medium
Full Circle

Wayne Dyer has kind of come full circle. From his own admission, when he first started out as a therapist, he had little tolerance for those who are slow, overweight, don't exercise, don't take care of themselves, but as a therapist it would seem those are just the types of people he would try most to help. I saw him in person in Tampa at the I Can Do It expo, and was so appauled that he was in tears admitting past faults - leaving his 1st wife (who was there by the way - so I'm not slamming him for that), not being involved enough with his 1st child, etc... He talked about sitting on airplanes and being repulsed by the number of overweight people who get on the plane. Well I'm not happy about it either, but I'm not in the helping profession. I was just so turned off by his schpeil, and then to read this book, and how he talks about living the tao? Hmmmm... something seems to be missing from the equation. Wouldn't living the tao mean being non-judgemental towards those who aren't as evolved? I don't know... I used to really enjoy reading or listening to Dr Dyer, but these days it seems he's not really in it to really help those who need him most.
If I were overweight I'd be very hurt by what he has to say about obesity - I'm not, but I do have fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue, and I don't think he makes any distinction between those people who have issues, and those making excuses. I just don't like the tone, especially considering Dr Dyer's life hasn't exactly been perfection. It felt more judgemental than a work of help. I hope he continues to evolve, and not stop at his current take on things.
Very valuable book - no more excuses!

I've received this book as a gift from my coach Donna Amos. I must say it's an excellent book and I'm truly impressed. This is the first book by Wayne Dyer I've read and after reading Excuses Begone I'm definitely going to explore other books by this author.
I like Mr. Dyer's no-nonsense, straightforward approach combined with spirituality. He defines the main excuses that we use and then offers a step-by-step system that anyone can use to eliminate these excuses from our life. Deep limiting beliefs are often difficult to get rid of but Mr. Dyer makes it easy, clear and understandable. I appreciate the fact that he does not only tell you how to do it but he also explains why you should do it and what the benefit will be once you overcome the obstacles.
Before reading this book, I quite often used phrases like: "It's too difficult. It will take a long time. I'm too... for this." And I never realized I was using excuses because they just seemed reasonable and plausible. I've eliminated these excuses from my life thanks to Mr. Dyer's book and I know how to deal with them should they ever appear again.
I also appreciate positive affirmations that Mr. Dyer offers throughout the book. As a big fan of positive affirmations, I'm well aware of their power and I find those in Excuses Begone to be very valuable and helpful.
If you want to move your life forward, learn how to be completely responsible for your life and stop looking for reasons why you actually can't achieve your goals or make your dreams come true, get Excuses Begone. This book and the advice it contains is truly priceless.
